Desa Kenteng, Kecamatan Bandungan, Kab. Semarang — As part of her community service, Nayla Tiara, a student in the 90th Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) at Diponegoro University, implemented a Simple Financial Record-Keeping Assistance program for PKK members Desa Kenteng, Kec. Bandungan, Kab. Semarang. This activity aims to provide an understanding of the importance of financial record-keeping in supporting the group’s cash management so that it is more orderly, transparent, and accountable.
Nayla, a student in the D4 Tax Accounting Program at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University, initiated this program as a way to apply her accounting knowledge directly within the community. According to her, simple financial record-keeping is the first step toward building better organizational governance, particularly for PKK groups that regularly manage activity funds.
During the activity, the PKK women received guidance on how to record each financial transaction using a simple cash book format. The material covered recording income, expenses, and calculating balances based on transactions commonly encountered in PKK activities. The material was presented in a communicative manner and accompanied by recording examples to make it easier to understand and immediately applicable to PKK cash management.
In addition to receiving the training materials, the PKK women were also invited to discuss their current financial record-keeping practices. Through this session, various challenges they faced—such as inconsistent record-keeping and difficulties in preparing simple cash reports—were discussed collectively, ensuring that the solutions provided were better tailored to the group’s needs.
This mentoring program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the improvement of community literacy and skills in financial management, as well as SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting the creation of more transparent, accountable, and sustainable group financial management practices.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the PKK women of Clowok Hamlet can develop the habit of consistently recording every financial transaction. With simple yet organized record-keeping, the group’s cash flow will be easier to monitor, the use of funds will become clearer, and it will support the sustainable implementation of various PKK activities.
