Undip Tax Accounting KKN Students Contribute to Budget Planning for a Multidisciplinary Program on Shredder Machine and Compost Fertilizer Development in Banaran Village

Sragen, Central Java — Students of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Diponegoro University (Undip) implemented a Multidisciplinary Program in Banaran Village, Samarang District, Sragen Regency, through an innovation in organic waste processing in the form of developing a shredder machine and compost fertilizer. This program involved five students from different academic backgrounds to integrate various perspectives in producing solutions that meet the needs of the local community.

The Multidisciplinary Program was carried out as an effort to support more optimal organic waste management. The shredder machine was designed to assist the process of converting organic waste into more easily processed materials, while the processed output can be further utilized as raw material for compost fertilizer production.

In its implementation, each student played a role according to their respective field of study. Students from technical disciplines were responsible for the design and development of the shredder machine, while the compost production process was also developed as part of the overall program. Meanwhile, students from the Tax Accounting Study Program contributed to the program budget planning to support the implementation of the activities.

This contribution was realized through the preparation of a Budget Plan (Rencana Anggaran Biaya/RAB) for the development of the shredder machine and compost fertilizer. The RAB was developed by identifying various program needs, ranging from materials and machine components to equipment required in the compost production process. Each requirement was then estimated and systematically arranged to provide an overview of the total budget needed.

Budget planning plays an important role in program implementation as it helps the team determine resource requirements and estimate costs from the early stages. With a structured budget plan, the use of funds can be managed more effectively and adjusted to the needs of each activity.

The budgeting process was also carried out by considering the relationship between technical requirements and resource availability. This allows financial aspects to align with the needs of both the shredder machine development and compost production process. In this way, the contribution from Tax Accounting does not stand alone but becomes part of a multidisciplinary collaboration supporting the overall success of the program.

The collaboration of five students from different academic disciplines became one of the strengths of this Multidisciplinary Program. The integration of technical aspects, waste management, and budget planning is expected to produce a program that is not only applicable for the community but also supported by well-structured resource planning.

Through this program, Undip KKN students aim to provide solutions for organic waste management in Banaran Village while also applying the knowledge gained during their studies in real community settings. For Tax Accounting students, involvement in preparing the RAB represents the application of competencies in financial planning and management in supporting community empowerment programs.

This Multidisciplinary Program is expected to bring benefits to the people of Banaran Village and serve as an example of cross-disciplinary collaboration in producing innovation oriented toward sustainability. Through synergy among various fields of study, Undip KKN students are committed to delivering programs that not only provide technical solutions but are also supported by well-planned resource and budget management.
